The perfect day of dining in Vail would begin with an easy breakfast at the Vail Racquet Club. On Sundays they offer a great breakfast at their restaurant, Blu’s – the only restaurant in East Vail. “Joe’s Special”, ground sirloin, onion, spinach and asiago cheese scrambled together with eggs, is my favorite dish. The staff is friendly, it’s affordable, and there’s no hour-long wait to get a table.
Another breakfast/brunch option for the hosteler is the WestSide Café. Located in West Vail, it has perfect Captain Crunch French Toast, more Bene’s than you can shake a stick at, and in case you need to relax a bit more…awesome BloodyMary’s.
After a long day of skiing or snowboarding “like nowhere else on earth,” grab a snack at the locals’ favorite pick for Mexican – La Cantina. Located on the third floor of Vail’s parking garage, don’t let its location fool you. This Mexican always hits the spot while being one of the best values in the valley.
If you are looking for something a bit more upscale but still a good value, try walking a block or so over to The Bully Ranch, a favorite restaurant in town. Located in the upscale Sonnenalp Hotel, locals and visitors a like love The Bully Ranch because it always is excellent, and there is a great outdoor patio to enjoy their infamous “mudslides” on those sunny après ski days. In addition to their great service, it’s relaxed and comfortable with western décor, and not to mention decent pricing relative to your high-end dining in town.
After enjoying good food and good company, take a leisurely stroll over to Vendetta’s and Whiskey Jack’s, both located on Vail’s infamous Bridge Street for drinks and socializing. Of course, don’t tell everyone about your perfect dining experiences in Vail, or they won’t stay that way. End your night at Shakedown, the hottest nightclub where live music puts the finishing touches on your perfect day.
