As the Vail Valley saying goes, “you come for the winters, and stay for the summers.” Regardless, it only takes a moment to fall in love with the beauty of The Rocky Mountains. The love of the mountains brought us here, and we want future generations to have the same opportunity.
At The Bunkhouse, we are passionate and committed to the sustainability of the surrounding mountain environment. We consider the ecological, economic, and social health of our community and valley of significant importance. The Bunkhouse has taken conscientious steps in the creation of a sustainable business. Therefore, we have been officially certified as an Actively Green Sustainable Business presented by Walking Mountains Science Center. Through a partnership with the global non-profit Sustainable Travel International, the Eagle Valley has its own credible certification and sustainability system. This training really gave The Bunkhouse staff a deeper understanding of sustainability practices and new tools to implement sustainability in daily operations.
The Bunkhouse is also proud to be a participating business supporting the Land & River's Fund, which helps support the conservation and protection work of Eagle Valley Land Trust and Eagle River Watershed Council. Eagle Valley Land Trust (EVLT) and Eagle River Watershed Council (ERWC) together are Eagle County’s only non-profits exclusively focused on conserving and protecting rivers and open spaces for the benefit of the community. Together, we have launched the Land & Rivers Fund. Funds collected help promote and restore healthy rivers, clean water, conscientious development, preservation of open space, wildlife and fish habitat, agriculture, water rights and economic diversity throughout the Valley. Read more about the Land & Rivers Fund here! And thank you for your commitment to helping protect the beautiful places we love to visit and live in!
